HARTFORD, Conn, (WTNH) – The campaign Operation E.L.F. – Embracing Lonely Families – which helps military families during the holidays has announced another successful year raising more than $18,000 in gift cards and financial support along with collecting hundreds of toys for Connecticut’s military families.
Connecticut National Guard Adjutant General and Commander Major General Thaddeus Martin says “Connecticut residents, whether through their generous donations or volunteering services, have gone above and beyond in support of Connecticut service members and their families.”
Lt. Governor nancy Wyman says “Our military men and women make such sacrifices for us, Operation E.L.F. is one small but important way we can give back and support what they for state and country.”
Also 56 families were adopted by 46 donors including businesses, organizations and individuals throught the adopt-a-family program, which is an anonymous effort to help military families during the holidays.
