Hartford mayor names interim fire chief

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) – The Hartford Fire Department has a new, interim fire chief and emergency management director, according to the city’s mayor.

Fire chief Carlos Huertas retired on Wednesday following a 35 year career with the Hartford Fire Department.

Mayor Luke Bronin has named Scott Brady to fill the post as interim fire chief and emergency management director.

Brady is a 25 year veteran of the Hartford Fire Department.

Brady has been serving as interim assistant fire chief and deputy emergency management director.
