Pedestrian struck by car in Windsor Locks

WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn. (WTNH) — Windsor Locks Police confirm to News 8 that a person has been struck by a car on Route 159.

Police say they expect the road near the Windsor Line will be closed in both directions for up to four hours while they continue their investigation. This all happened around 11:30 Thursday morning near Lawnacre Road.

The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries. His name has not been released, but News 8 has learned that he is a flagman for the state Department of Transportation, but he is not a DOT employee. The driver of the vehicle did stop following the accident. The accident reconstruction team is on the scene.
