Convicted Felon Arrested for Firearms Possession

Hartford, Conn. (WTN) – Officers were responding to a ShotSpotter activation and several 911 calls for shots fired in the area of 51 Ward Street.  When officers arrived they saw two spent .380 shell casings by Wolcott Street and saw a man matching the description of the suspect. When officers approached him a foot chase started. They caught up with him and found out that he was a convicted felon out on probation.

Police say 28-year-old Luis J. Vizcarrondo  had a firearm and 45 bags of heroin on him. After talking with him, police say that Vizcarrondo admitted to firing shots.

He’s now facing several charges including possession and discharging a firearm and possession of narcotics.
