HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH) – A Hamden apartment complex manager is accused of using her master key to enter a resident’s apartment and steal from her.
Thursday police officers responded to the Sutton View Apartments at 720 Mix Avenue for a reported burglary. When they got there, the 34-year-old resident told them someone came into her apartment while she was asleep. Her wallet was stolen.
Police discovered there was no forced entry. An investigation found that Joanne Carusone, an ex-property manager at the complex, was responsible for the burglary. Carusone had used her master key to gain entry.
Hamden Police arrested Joanne Carusone, 48, of 720 Mix Avenue, Apartment # 307, Hamden. She was charged with Burglary in the 2nd Degree and Larceny in the 6th Degree. Carusone was detained on a $1,000.00 bond.
