STAMFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Police are investigating after a man and woman were hit by a car near the High Ridge Center shopping in Stamford on Thursday.
According to police, 55-year-old Bruce Goldstein and 57-year-old Sharon Aks, both of Stamford, were crossing the street at the High Ridge Road and Square Acre Drive intersection.
Authorities say Goldstein and Aks were leaving the shopping center just after 3:30 pm, when they were hit by a driver as they crossed High Ridge Road.
The driver, identified as 35-year-old Michael Warshaw, of Stamford, was making a left turn southbound onto High Ridge Road when he struck the two pedestrians with his 2015 Audi, police said.
Both Goldstein and Aks were transported to Stamford Hospital with serious injuries.
Investigators believe the pedestrians were walking in the crosswalk when they were hit, but the crash is still under investigation. According to officials, no charges have been filed at this time.
