MANCHESTER, Conn. (WTNH) — Firefighters were on the scene of a basement fire at the American Legion Saturday that left extensive damage to the interior of the building.
Fire crews arrived on scene just before 3:30 Saturday afternoon to the American Legion on American Legion Drive. An employee working in the building at the time called 911 to report have smoke coming from the basement.
Crews were able to get the blaze under control around 4:30. Fire officials report there is extensive damage to the interior of the building on all floors, but the exterior of the building remains intact.

There were no injuries reported at the scene. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
