Snow plow truck struck by Metro-North train

STAMFORD, Conn. (WTNH)– A Metro-North patrol train struck a snow plow truck in Stamford Sunday morning.

According to MTA officials, the snow plow was struck at 9:10 a.m., while crossing the tracks at the Riverbend Road crossing on the New Canaan branch line.

The driver was able to get out of the truck and leave the vehicle on the tracks. MTA says the train unfortunately could not stop. No one was injured in the collision and the crash is not going to cause any delays.

No passenger trains were running at the time of the incident.

The collision remains under investigation.
