NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)– A local non-profit is giving New Haven kids a chance to make music.
Music Haven is a program that offers free instruments, group classes, individual music lessons and ensemble and leadership development opportunities for kids between ages 6-18, from low income neighborhoods in New Haven.
In September, Disney’s ABC and WTNH teamed up to donate the $5,000 Be Inspired grant to help enrich the lives of children and their families in our community.
Music Haven was happy to report to News 8 they had a great semester with 82 students who participated in different events like a flash mob at a local train station, a new Music 101 program and a Winter Performance party.
