BEVERLY HILLS (WTNH)– An ex-husband of one of the stars of the popular reality TV show, “Real Housewives,” has died of cancer.
People magazine reports that Monty Brinson, the ex-husband of the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Kim Richards, has passed away at age 58 from cancer. His brother-in-law Rick Hilton confirmed the death on Instagram. Brinson and Richards were married from 1985-1988 and have a 29-year-old daughter together named Brooke. Sources tell the magazine that Richards is devastated over the loss.
Even though the two were divorced, they always remained close friends. Richards, 51, was even caring for Brinson after he was diagnosed with cancer. People reports that Brinson in turn, supported the reality star through her addictions and public arrests.
In several occasions, Richards posted several photos on her Instagram with Brinson, captioning each photo with how much she loved him.
In a post from two months ago she wrote: “I love you so much. We have come so far, let’s keep it going. I’m right by your side forever!,” under a photo of them two celebrating his birthday.
Fellow RHOBH star, Brandi Glanville told People that while Brinson had lung cancer in 2014, he had also developed a brain tumor that was inoperable.
“He is the sweetest soul. You can’t help but love Monty,” Glanville told People.
In December, Brinson updated his Instagram followers telling them he was going to make the best of spending Christmas in the hospital and urged his fans to “enjoy ever day” and “find love in their hearts.”
