In the Bender Kitchen: Easy romantic dinner for two with Chef Bill Marinelli

(WTNH) – Chef Bill Marinelli is in the Bender Kitchen with a recipe super easy for beginner cooks that they can cook to really impress their Valentine this year.

Recipe: Warm Crab & Bread Pudding served over mixed greens w/ champagne / dijon vinaigrette- For 2




2 beaten eggs

1/2 cup whole milk

1/2 cup half & half

1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives

Salt & pepper

juice of half a lemon

6 oz. Lump crab meat

1 -12 inch baguette or half of a 24 inch cut into cubes-

1/2 stick sweet butter cut into cubes plus more for greasing the baking  dish…




Preheat oven to 350 degrees


Mix eggs, milk, half & half, herbs, lemon juice, generous salt & pepper in a large bowl


Fold the crab, bread & butter in thoroughly & set aside for 5 min.


Grease a medium sized baking dish w/ butter & distribute the bread / crab mixture into evenly


Bake in the center of the oven for 30 minutes


Pull pudding from the oven & let sit for a couple of minutes before serving with greens – recipe follows


Greens with Champagne / Dijon vinaigrette


Toss a handful of your choice of fresh salad greens with a small thinly sliced shallot – a slight drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, a couple drops of champagne vinegar & half teaspoon of Dijon mustard a little salt & pepper (keep dressing light)


To Serve:


Place a small serving of greens on 2 plates, spoon warm crab & bread pudding on top & serve –Voila!
