2 seriously hurt in Hamden hit-and-run

HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Two people are recovering in the hospital after they were hit by a car in Hamden on Thursday afternoon.

At 2 p.m. Thursday, police say two pedestrians were hit by a car while crossing Dixwell Avenue at Robert Street. Police say the driver stopped momentarily before fleeing on Dixwell Ave.

The vehicle is described as a red or orange Saturn or Nissan Altima. The vehicle should have some damage to the front end, hood, and windshield. The driver is described as a black male, approximately 5’8″ tall.

Both victims were taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital with serious injuries.
