(WTNH) – Now well into flu season, it’s important to know the warning signs of flu and the differences from the common cold. Dr. Imaran Ali Resident Physician Internal Medicine at Bridgeport Hospital shares what you need to know about the flu.
Preventing the flu is key. Boost your immune system and get the flu shot. “Kids ages 6 months to 3 years absolutely must get their flu shot. Anybody above 65 or anybody who has diabetes, chronic lung conditions like Asthma and COPD… and pregnant women too should definitely get their flu shot,” said Dr. Imaran.
Dr. Ali is an accomplished physician who graduated from Graduated from St. Georges’ University School of Medicine’s Global Scholar’s program before pursuing a Masters of Public Health at New York Medical College’s Institute for Public Health. Most notably, Dr. Ali spent a year working alongside Dr. Sanjay Gupta and the CNN Medical Unit!
