Man arrested for attempted 7-11 store robbery in Vernon

VERNON, Conn. (WTNH) — A man who attempted to rob a 7-11 store in Vernon on Nov 19, 2015 turned himself into police today after an arrest warrant was issued.

The 28-year-old, Lee Colt of Vernon, was arrested and charged with one count of criminal attempt to commit robbery in the first-degree. The arrest warrant charges that Colt walked into the 7-11 store located at 180 Union Street in November around noon with his face concealed and armed with a box cutter knife. Police say Colt threatened the clerk behind the counter and demanded money. The clerk did not comply and Colt fled the store.

Colt was processed and scheduled to be arraigned today at Rockville Superior Court.
