New trail set for East Hartford

East Hartford, Conn. (WTNH)- People who like to walk and bike will get a new place to pursue their passions in East Hartford. Mayor Marcia LeClerc says construction of a multi-use trail will get underway next month.

The project will consist of two separate parts, one beginning at Great River park and extending to Main Street and the other starting at Silver Lane at Simmons Road ultimately connecting with an existing trail at Forbes Street. the nearly 2-point four million dollar project will be paid for primarily with state and federal funds. Construction is set to be completed in November.

Drivers who use the area are being advised to be mindful of delays during the construction period.
