87-year-old pedestrian killed in Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) — An 87-year-old man has died after he was hit by a car in Bridgeport on Saturday morning.

Around 6:30 a.m. Saturday, Bridgeport police say 87-year-old William “Frank” Godwin of Bridgeport was hit by a car at the intersection of Prospect Street and Myrtle Avenue. Godwin suffered head, chest, and pelvic trauma from the accident and was taken to Bridgeport Hospital where he later died of his injuries.

Police say the driver, 42-year-old Venzinia Colon, stayed at the scene and is cooperating with officers.

Bridgeport police are still investigating this crash. No arrest has been made.
