Newtown Road in Danbury closed after car hits pedestrian

DANBURY, Conn. (WTNH) — Newtown Road in Danbury is closed after a pedestrian was struck by a car Saturday night.

Danbury police confirm to News 8 that Newtown Road is shut down in the area Beaver Brook Road and Old Shelter Rock Road after an accident involving a pedestrian.

Police had no word on the extent of the injuries in the accident.

Officers say units are currently on scene and the road will be closed for some time until they clear the accident.
