Several school closings, early dismissals and power outages

(WTNH)– There are several closings and early dismissals throughout the state Monday morning, as well as power outages.

There are hundreds of districts that are either early dismissals or closed. Waterbury, Newington, and New Haven are amongst the closures. Many of the closures are also in the eastern part of the state where the snow is expected to be the heaviest.

Storm crews have been out all morning pre-treating the roads for drivers.

There were also several power outages in the early hours of Monday morning. Eversource reported that there were 551 outages in Killingly, 393 in Rocky Hill and 115 in Tolland ,around 5:30 a.m. Those numbers have gone down significantly as power was restored. Eversource officials say the outages are due to weakened trees from Friday’s storm and that they are expecting additional outages.

In East Hampton, police say the strong winds took down two trees, however there were no power outages associated with it.
