Feeling the Love at the Senior Citizens Valentine’s Dance

MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — It’s one of the most loved events of the year. The Lauralton Hall Senior Citizens Valentine’s Dance in Milford. It’s where people of all ages feel like a teenager again, dancing in a decorated gym, and showing off their fancy dance steps.

More than 100 seniors took to the dance floor today at Lauralton Hall wearing pink and red and their most comfortable shoes for dancing. The seniors are bused in from local senior centers and it’s here they meet new friends, socialize and of course, dance. This year, line dancing seemed more popular than ever with the ladies while others coupled up swaying to some of their favorite tunes. All the music was performed live by senior musicians; guitars, trumpets, keyboard and drums.

For many of these folks, this day is so special to them. It’s not only a Valentine’s celebration full of heart, but all that movin’ and groovin’ also does a body good. What’s not to love about that?
