HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — A Hartford man has been sentenced to more than seven years in prison on drug and gun charges.
Court documents say Miguel Diaz threw 300 sleeves of heroin from his car while leading Hartford police on a pursuit in May 2015. He drove the wrong way during that pursuit, almost colliding with several cars.
Officers called the pursuit off and arrested Diaz at his Hartford home a short time later. They found more heroin and a loaded handgun in his apartment.
Diaz has been behind bars since he was arrested. In November 2015, he pleaded guilty to possessing heroin with the intent to distribute and possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense.
The Hartford man has 16 prior convictions, including convictions for weapons and drug offenses.
