Bridgeport police search Stratford Avenue shooting suspect

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) – Bridgeport police are asking the public for information on a shooting that took place on Stratford Avenue Thursday night.

At approximately 8:30 p.m., Bridgeport police responded to call of gunshots at the intersection of Stratford Avenue and Connecticut Avenue. Officers found the victim, 29-year-old Javoni Patton, of Bridgeport, lying in the middle of the intersection.

According to police, Patton sustained multiple gunshot wounds, including one to his chest. His car was found a short distance away. Officers said the driver’s door was open, and Patton’s personal items were strewn about the vehicle.

Patton was transported to Bridgeport Hospital, but died shortly after arrival.
