South Windsor Police make identity theft arrests

SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn.  (WTNH)  –  Two Hartford women have been charged with identity theft and forgery by South Windsor Police after they forged and cashed checks.

Police say 23 year old Kassandra Garcia and 23 year old Camilla Ayala are charged with 4 counts of identity theft in the third degree, 4 counts of forgery in the third degree and 4 counts of larceny in the fifth degree.

According to police, they received a complaint from a business in December that someone had forged and cashed checks from the business for $7664.00 that were made out to Garcia and Ayala.   Police say the two women were seen on surveillance video at a bank cashing the checks.
