WEST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — West Haven police have arrested a man after they said he fired a round of shots into the air last night.
Police said they received multiple 9-11 calls of reports of gunshots in the area of Eagle Place around 11:30 p.m. Friday night.
Officers said when they arrived on scene at 22 Eagle Place, they found six shell casings and a man, later identified as Andre Morales, outside.
Police said Morales lied about his involvement in the incident and led them on a foot pursuit before he was taken into custody.
After a search of the home, police said they also found Morales’ 9 mm Ruger, which was legally registered to him, and some ammunition.
After the arrest, police said Morales admitted that he had gotten into an argument with two of his friends inside of his residence after drinking and had fired off several rounds into the air outside of his home.
Morales was charged with interfering with police, illegal discharge of a firearm, reckless endangerment and breach of peace.
