SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn. (WTNH)– An East Hartford man was arrested Thursday following an investigation into the armed robbery of a South Windsor condominium in 2015.
On Thursday, South Windsor police arrested 50-year-old Robert M. Cummings at the Manchester Superior Court. He is facing multiple charges, including burglary while armed with a deadly weapon, larceny, and criminal possession of a revolver. These charges stem from a burglary that occurred on September 13, 2015 at the Twin Circle Drive condominiums on Ellington Road.
At the time of the September 13th burglary, a resident called police to report that she had interrupted a burglary when she entered her home around 1:00 a.m. According to police, the woman said she saw a tall, thin black male dressed in all black standing in her kitchen with a gun in his hand. She ran outside to call 9-1-1, and the burglar fled the scene.
After an investigation, authorities found Cumming’s DNA on evidence taken from the condominium.
Cummings was later arrested on September 27th while fleeing from another residential burglary. Officers said they located a loaded handgun that he had thrown away as he attempted to flee from the scene.
Cummings has been held in a correctional facility for charges from the September 27th burglary, and was now served with charges related to the September 13th burglary.
Cummings was held on a $250,000 bond, and was arraigned Thursday morning.
