Police: Missing man is suspect in arson case

WOLCOTT, Conn. (WTNH) — Wolcott police say a man missing for over a month now may be missing on purpose.

Investigators say 23-year-old Scott Basile is wanted in Waterbury in connection with an arson in the Brass City. They have a warrant for his arrest on arson and bomb making charges.

Police say he has been seen on camera in his car in New York. “Now you have two prongs trying to locate him. I’d rather see him back here whether he’s in jail or not so at least we know he’s safe,” said Wolcott Police Chief Edward Stephens.

Basile was last seen by his family on January 2nd. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
