Two more countries added to Zika travel advisory watch list

(WTNH) – The latest on the Zika virus outbreak. Two more countries added to the travel advisory watch list.

The CDC now adding Aruba and Bonaire — to the list of affected areas that pregnant women should think twice about visiting. Both are islands off the coast of Venezuela.

The list is now up to 32 Zika affected countries or territories impacted by the global health emergency.

The mosquito-borne virus has been linked to the birth of babies with an abnormally small head and brain.

The CDC also recommends that anyone traveling to these countries should continue to use mosquito repellent for three weeks after travel, to prevent spreading the disease through mosquitoes.

Health experts warn that Colombia could be the next epicenter for Zika.
