New Haven, Conn. (WTNH)- A traffic stop by New Haven police has landed two men behind bars. One of them is now facing a slew narcotics related charges. When police pulled over an S-U-V last week, they say the two people inside were acting in a manner that suggested they were trying to hide something. Police also say, the officers smelled marijuana when they opened the front door of the vehicle and a passenger in the back seat threw something out of the window.
According to police, what was tossed was a plastic bag containing a container with marijuana inside of it. Police say they found more marijuana in the cup holder of the vehicle in addition to fourteen bags of crack cocaine in the clothing of one of the occupants. They say all of the narcotics had already been packaged for sale on the street. Police have two men under arrest in the case.
Police also found a body armor vest behind the front seat of the vehicle. Curtis Gray faces charges that include possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics within 1500 feet of a school and criminal possession of body armor.
Christopher Gray is charged with failure to have lights illuminated and criminal possession of body armor.
