Norwalk police: Man in van may have offered child candy

NORWALK, Conn. (WTNH) — A man in a van waved to a child walking near a Norwalk school Thursday morning and may have offered the child candy, police say.

According to authorities, the child was walking on Wilson Avenue near Rowayton Elementary School at around 9 a.m. when the van stopped nearby. They say the man in the van waved at the child and may have offered candy. The child ran and reported the incident, officials say.

Police describe the van as dirty and dark blue with a loud muffler. They describe the driver as a bearded man in his 50s.
