RI man captured by CT Trooper & k-9 following pursuit

PLAINFIELD, Conn. (WTNH)  –  A Rhode Island man, who was holding a woman against her will, was captured by a Connecticut State Trooper and his k-9 partner in Plainfield, Connecticut following a pursuit that began in Foster, Rhode Island.

According to police, 45 year old Robert Atamian of Warwick, Rhode Island, was eventually found at the Old Staples Warehouse on Moosup Pond Road after Plainfield Police received a second  911 call from 33 year old Nicole Cournoyer of Providence saying she was trying to get away from Atamian.   Police had already been trying to located his vehicle after being notified by Foster, Rhode Island Police that they had been pursuing him and the Connecticut State Police and Plainfield Police were listening to an open 911 call with the victim and suspect arguing.

Atamian is charged with larceny 3rd by possession, unlawful restraint 2nd, reckless endangerment 1st, interfering with an officer and disorderly conduct.
