FAIRFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) — Two people have been arrested after a traffic stop revealed drugs, weapons, and two active warrants.

A Fairfield officer on DUI patrol saw a pickup truck speeding on Kings Highway East. After pulling over the truck, the officer realized there were two active warrants for both the driver, 20-year-old Chris Pecora, and the passenger, 18-year-old Deldar Malaka, both of Fairfield. The warrants were out of Bridgeport for second-degree assault.

A K9 search of the vehicle found several bags of marijuana, drug packaging, and other forms of drug paraphernalia, as well as a set of brass knuckles.

Both Pecora and Malaka were taken into custody. Pecora is charged with dangerous weapons in a motor vehicle, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Pecora and Malaka were turned over to Bridgeport police where they were charged on the warrants for second-degree assault.
