Whole Foods getting backlash for selling pre-peeled oranges

(WTNH)– Whole Foods has been receiving some backlash by people on social media.

CNN reports, the picture was first posted on Twitter, showing packages of pre-peeled oranges sitting in plastic containers at the store.

The original tweet by Nathalie Gordon has since received over 99,000 retweets and 95,000 favorites.

After the response to the picture, Whole Foods tweeted it was a mistake and pulled the product.

In the tweet, Whole Foods promised to leave the oranges in their “natural packaging: the peel.”
