Man pleads guilty to federal gun offense

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)  –  A New Haven man has plead guilty to a federal firearms charge that stemmed from a violent robbery,

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Connecticut says 23 year old Harry Anderson a.k.a.. “Ace” has plead guilty in New Haven Federal Court to one count of discharging a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Anderson’s arrest stemmed from an investigation in the Red Side Guerilla Brims, a sect of the Bloods Street Gang that operated in New Haven between 2011 and 2015.   Authorities say the gang was involved in murders, assaults, robberies and drugs.   Anderson was arrested for shooting another person in the face in October 2011 during a drug deal.

Anderson is facing a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years and a maximum of life in prison.
