Police: Gang’s cashe of drugs, money, weapons & ammunition seized in Hartford

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — The Hartford Police Department executed a search warrant of an apartment in the city where guns, narcotics, weapons and ammunition were seized that police say belonged to members of a gang.

Investigators from the Hartford Police Department Vice and Narcotics Unit received information that members of the Los Solidos gang have been storing guns and illegal drugs inside the first floor west side apartment of 908 Park Street.

A valid search and seizure warrant  was applied for and obtained.  With the assistance of Detectives from the Hartford Police Shooting Task Force and members of the Emergency Response Team, the detectives executed the search warrant Wednesday night.

Police say the following items were seized from within the apartment;  a Ruger 9mm firearm, a .22 caliber rifle, 442 bags of heroin, 12 bags of crack cocaine (42 grams), 83 bags of powder cocaine, 26 bags of marijuana (2 ounces), over 500 rounds of assorted live ammunition, including; .22 caliber, 9mm, .45 caliber and 7.62 mm.

During the course of the investigation it was learned that one of the firearms was reported lost out of New Britain.

During the execution of the search warrant three children ages 4, 5 and 8 were located in a rear bedroom. While searching this bedroom detectives noticed that the living conditions were particularly deplorable.  As a result, a notification was made to DCF.

Also during the search, detectives located narcotics in close proximity to where the children had been, within and amongst their toys and clothing, including a pair of boots stored in a nearby closet.

The four adults present in the home at the time the search warrant was served were placed under arrest for narcotics and firearm related charges.

Arrested were:

Benny Estrada, 35-year-old of Hartford, was charged with criminal possession of firearm, (two counts), possession of narcotics, possession of controlled substance, possession with intent to sell narcotics, drug factory, risk of injury (three counts), possession of high capacity magazine, and possession with intent to sell controlled substance.

Magaly Perez, 39-year-old of Hartford, was charged with criminal possession of firearm (two counts), possession of narcotics, possession of controlled substance, possession with intent to sell narcotics, drug factory, risk of injury (three counts), possession of high capacity magazine, possession with intent to sell controlled substance

Juan Baez, 20-year-old of Hartford, was charged with criminal possession of firearm (two counts, possession of narcotics, possession of controlled substance, possession with intent to sell narcotics, drug factory, risk of injury (three counts), possession of high capacity magazine, possession with intent to sell controlled substance (two outstanding West Hartford prawn warrants).

Andrea Rijos,19-year-old of Hartford, was charged with interfering with a search warrant possession of narcotics, possession of controlled substance, possession with intent to sell narcotics, drug factory, risk of injury (three counts, possession of high capacity magazine, possession with intent to sell controlled substance.
