‘Angel Investors’ build up Connecticut businesses

(WTNH) — Are you working on a new business in the state of Connecticut, are you making a new product and trying to get it on the market, do you need capitol to help grow what you’ve already developed?

Do you know about Connecticut Innovations? How about CT Next? There is help out there in the way of money and help finding so-called “Angel Investors,” people who want to give you money because they believe in what you’re doing?

“We have this entrepreneur innovation award that’s sponsored through CT-Next, we have them quarterly across the state, we give out micro grants where you can win up to $10,000, so it’s a shark tank-style pitch contest,” said Glendowlyn Thames. “We’re investors, we’ve built up a lot of connections with people and we work closely with the Angel Investor Forum here in Connecticut, which is a group of angels that are based here in Connecticut. We work very closely with them and also Golden Seens, we’re out always making presentations about what we do so we’re always connecting with folks and bringing them into our network so when we’re having pitch contests we’re inviting angels into the room so they have first view of what’s happening and if something interests them.”
