Ansonia man sentenced for shooting neighbor

MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — An Ansonia man will serve nine years in prison for shooting his neighbor in 2014.

Steven Sentementes was sentenced to 18 years, suspended after nine, in Milford Superior Court on Thursday. According to the Connecticut Judicial Branch, he pleaded guilty to first-degree assault and risk of injury to a child.

Sentementes got into an argument with his neighbor on Woodbridge Avenue on April 20, 2014. He then got his gun and shot his neighbor inside the neighbor’s home. The victim was shot in his lower leg, but was able to tackle Sentementes before police got there. His injuries were not life-threatening.
