Crash leaves Bridgeport police officer injured

Bridgeport, Conn. (WTNH)- A Bridgeport police officer suffered a minor injury when his cruiser hit a suspect’s vehicle during a pursuit on Saturday night.

According to the Bridgeport police department the crash occurred on Route 8 as officer pursued the driver of a grey Nissan Maxima. The suspect led officers down Fairfield Avenue to Scofield Avenue where the accident took place.

The suspect tried to flee the scene, but was quickly caught by the officers. The officer suffered a minor injury and was taken to Saint Vincent Medical Center.

The name of the suspect has not been released.
