HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — An early morning car accident has killed one man and seriously hurt one woman early Friday morning.
Police say the accident happened on Asylum Avenue in Hartford near the curve at Woodside Circle. Investigators say one man was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, while crews rushed a woman with serious injuries to Saint Francis Hospital. Their names have not yet been released.
Investigators were on the scene through the Friday morning rush hour. The accident shut down Asylum Avenue in both the Westbound and Eastbound directions, causing big delays getting into the city.

By 9:30 a.m., Hartford police reported that the scene was cleared, and traffic in both directions was back open.

Police say this accident is unrelated to another deadly accident, one on Wawarme Avenue.
