PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — A teen boy was seriously injured after falling through the roof of a Portsmouth middle school, Wednesday night.

Portsmouth police tell WAVY.com they were called to Waters Middle School on Roosevelt Boulevard after a burglar alarm went off just before 8:30 p.m. A 911 call was also made.

The caller told police told police that a juvenile fell through the roof of the building.

When officers arrived, they found a 14-year-old boy lying on the floor of the school’s gym. He was taken to Children’s Hospital of the Kings Daughters (CHKD) with life-threatening injuries.
