NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) – New Haven police have arrested a man, who they say slashed a friend in the face in a fight over a towel.  Just before 4:30 Tuesday afternoon, police got a call to 203 Rosette Street.  82 year old Oswald Walters answered the door holding a blood-soaked towel to his face.  Police say he had a cut on the tip of his nose, and another along his cheek.  Walters told police that his roommate Michael Gordon had put a wet towel on the dining room table.  He said he told Gordon the towel would ruin the table’s finish, and asked him to remove it.  A fight followed, and Walters said Gordon picked up a kitchen knife and slashed his face.

Police say early Thursday morning Gordon, 54, turned himself in to New Haven police headquarters.  He has been charged with Assault in the Second Degree of an Elderly Person, and Breach of Peace in the Second Degree.
