Police arrest suspect in 2015 Oxycodone robbery

WALLINGFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — A Wallingford man is under arrest after allegedly robbing a CVS of over 1,200 Oxycodone pills last October.

44-year-old John Buono was arrested Friday as he was pumping gas in Wallingford. Police say Buono walked into the North Colony Road pharmacy, implied he had a firearm, and demanded all the Oxycodone pills from the pharmacist. The street value for 1,200 Oxycodone pills is estimated at over $10,000.

Authorities identified Buono as a suspect through surveillance video, witness accounts, and DNA evidence.

He faces charges of robbery, possession of narcotics, and possession with intent to sell.

Buono is being held on a $100,000 bond. He is due to appear in Meriden Superior Court on April 19.
