TOLLAND, Conn. (WTNH) – Connecticut state troopers have seized a large amount of the date rape drug GHB and methamphetamines from a vehicle in police custody.
Troopers from Troop C, say that have seized sizable amounts of gamma-Hydroxybutyric acid, commonly referred to as GHB, methamphetamines and other drug paraphernalia after serving a search warrant on a vehicle that was seized in a March 3rd traffic stop.
According to troopers, the search found: 1.25 ounces of methamphetamine, 15 vials of suspected GHB, approximately one half liter of additional GHB, narcotics packaging material/ narcotics paraphernalia, and $100 cash.
According to police, on March 5 at approximately 3:00 p.m., a trooper pulled over a black SUV that was not maintaining its proper lane and passed a stop sign. The occupants of the car were Rhiannon Welch and Wesley St. Pierre, both from Maine. After probable cause was obtained, a search of the vehicle found drug paraphernalia, marijuana, meth, and over $2200 cash in a piece of luggage.
Both suspects were charged with various narcotics charges and appeared in Rockville District Court on March 7th. The Rockville States Attorney was made aware of these new findings and additional charges will be added.
