WETHERSFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) — The Connecticut Department of Labor announced Monday that it will host three job and career fairs for veterans in the months of April, May, and June this year.
Officials at the Department of Labor tell News 8 that the career fair series has been helping veterans and their families match with potential employers for almost 20 years. The three fairs happening this spring include:
- Heroes 4 Hire
Wednesday, April 27th
11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Rentschler Field Ballroom, East Hartford
- Diverse Ability Career Fair
Tuesday, May 17th
11 a.m.- 3 p.m.
Hartford Hilton, Hartford
- Middlesex County Career Fair
Monday, June 20th
11 a.m.- 2 p.m.
Radisson Hotel, Cromwell
Each year, these fairs attract hundreds of businesses and thousands of job seekers, according to the Department of Labor. Certified professional résumé writers from the DOL will be at each of the fairs to review résumés, and offer employment tips.
Job seekers are advised to bring plenty of résumés, and schedule enough time to meet with various company representatives. There is no cost to attend the fairs, and parking is free.
