HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) – Hartford police have made an arrest in connection with a January murder on Broad Street.
Torrick Maragh, 22, has been arrested in connection with the January 5th murder of Nasashalie Marie Hoy by Hartford police.
According to police, on January 5th officers responded to a Broad Street apartment for the report of an ‘unclassified emergency.’ Upon arrival, officers located Hoy, who was suffering from a gunshot wound to her neck. She was transported to Hartford Hospital where she was pronounced dead later that night.
According to officers, a witness, Maragh, described the incident as a suicide. A search of the scene was conducted and resulted in the seizure of two sawed-off shotguns and forensic evidence. As a result of the shotgun seizure, Maragh was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of a sawed-off shotgun.
Following an autopsy and investigation by authorities, the death of Hoy was changed from a suicide to homicide. Maragh was charged with the murder and is being held on a $1.5 million bond. He is set to appear in court on May 9th.
