Massachusetts man faces drug charges in Wallingford

Wallingford, Conn. (WTNH)- A West Springfield, Connecticut man got a rude awakening by police in Wallingford early Sunday morning. Local police say they discovered 28 year old Matthew Giaquinto sleeping behind the wheel of a Dodge Pickup truck at the Cook Hill Road exit of the Oakdale Theater.

After officers were able to wake up Giaquinto, they say they detected a strong smell of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. A search of the truck turned up more than one pound of marijuana, numerous scales, drug paraphernalia and approximately 24 grams of hash oil.

Giaquinto now faces charges that include possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of over four ounces of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell and operating a drug factory.
