Police: 2 men shot during Bridgeport drug deal

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH)– Two men were shot during an alleged drug deal in Bridgeport Sunday night.

Police say at around 11:30 p.m., 20-year-old Brandon Thompson went with his friends to Iranistan Avenue to meet 22-year-old Immanuel White to purchase marijuana. According to witnesses, they met in the front of 1330 Iranistan Avenue before an altercation ensued and both men got shot.

Thompson suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was taken by private car to St. Vincent’s Hospital, where he was rushed into surgery. He currently remains in critical condition. White was shot in the arm and was taken by ambulance to St. Vincent’s Hospital with a non-life threatening wound.

The shooting remains under investigation but police say detectives are following strong leads and that an arrest is likely.
