West Hartford man arrested for drugs and DUI after traffic stop


COLCHESTER, Conn. (WTNH) – A West Hartford man was arrested for possession of drugs and DUI following a traffic stop on Route 2 near exit 18 in Colchester on Saturday.

State troopers say 30-year-old Daryl McNeill failed to stay within lanes at 2:10 a.m. and was pulled over. While troopers were speaking with him, they suspected that he was operating the vehicle under the influence of drugs.

Troopers conducted a field sobriety test, which McNeill was unable to perform. He was then taken into to custody. They searched his car and found 38 Oxycodone pills, approximately 3.6 ounces of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, packaging materials for drug sales and more than $750 in cash.

McNeill is being charged with possession of a narcotic (Oxycodone), possession with intent to sell Oxycodone, possession of marijuana less than four ounces, possession with intent to sell marijuana, failure to keep prescription on proper container, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, operating under suspension, and failure to maintain lane.

He is being held on $20,000 bond. McNeill is expected Norwich Superior Court on April 28th.
