Two hospitalized from wrong way crash on I-95

MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH)  –  Two people are hospitalized following a crash caused by a wrong way driver on I-95 in Milford early this morning.

According to the Connecticut Department of Transportation the accident happened at 2:21 a.m. on the northbound side between exits 35 and 36 and closed the northbound side for more then 2 hours.

The Milford Fire Department responded and found the drivers of both vehicles trapped and had to extricate them.   According to the fire department one of the drivers appeared to have life threatening injuries and the other driver was conscious.   Both were taken to Yale New Haven Hospital where their conditions are unknown at this time.    Neither the fire department or State Police have said which one was the wrong way driver.
