Meriden police investigate after 2 men shot in car

MERIDEN, Conn. (WTNH)– Meriden police are investigating after two men were shot multiple times inside their car, early Wednesday morning.

Police say just before 1 a.m., they responded to the area of 27 Randolph Avenue after they received several calls of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers found a four door Honda with multiple bullet holes but there were no occupants inside of the car.

Officers say they also heard screaming coming from a second floor porch of a nearby home, before they were then approached and told that the unidentified victims were inside of the house.

It was then determined that two men had been shot while sitting inside of the Honda, after an unknown vehicle pulled up alongside them. While it’s unclear how many people were inside the car, police say multiple shots were fired at the Honda, and that the victims, ages 23 and 27 years old, were each struck multiple times.

One of the victims was transported to a hospital, before being flown via Lifestar to a trauma hospital. His current condition is unknown. The other victim has been treated and released.

The shootings remain under investigation. Police ask anyone with information to contact them at (203) 630-6250.
