Pinwheels planted on New Haven green bring awareness to child abuse

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)– Dozens gathered in downtown New Haven Wednesday, to bring light to child abuse awareness and prevention month.

Organizers of the third annual event planted 350 pinwheels at the New Haven green. The pinwheels represent each child that received services from South Central Child Advocacy Center last year.

“Today we are lucky to have several special guests who will reflect on the child abuse and the impact it has on our communities,” said Caroline Demar, South Central Child Advocacy Center.

A number of multidisciplinary team members were honored at the event for their dedication and commitment to the children and families in need.
