KILLINGLY, Conn. (WTNH) — A Killingly woman has been arrested after state police found 700 bags of heroin in the trunk of her car.
Connecticut State Police say they arrested 42-year-old Lori Ashmore of Killingly on Wednesday. Over the past few weeks, troopers assigned to the Troop D Quality of Life Task Force (QLTF) learned that Ashmore had a large amount of heroin. Troopers say it was reportedly stored in her Main Street apartment or her car.
Last week, troopers say they conducted a “Knock and Talk” where they spoke with Ashmore and she gave them permission to search both her home and her car, which was parked outside. Troopers searched the home and found nothing, but when they searched her car, troopers say they found 700 pre-packaged bags of heroin with an “NFL” stamp in the trunk of her car.
The heroin was seized.
Troopers applied for an arrest warrant and arrested Ashmore on Wednesday afternoon. She is charged with possession of heroin with intent to sell. She is held on $75,000 bond and is due in court on Thursday.
